Antipodes Certified Organic Skincare Products

International beauty brand Antipodes®, committed to delivering certified organic product, teams up with The Nature Conservancy to limit their carbon footprint on Earth’s natural resources.

Boca Raton, FL October 2008 – Antipodes®, a leader in organic skincare, has recently teamed up with The Nature Conservancy and their Plant A Billion Trees campaign. In an effort to help save the environment and reduce the company’s carbon footprint, Antipodes will be donating one new tree for every order placed online at www.AntipodesUSA.com. The donations will be made through The Nature Conservancy’s website that is devoted primarily to this campaign www.PlantABillion.org.

The focus of the Plant A Billion Tress campaign is on the Atlantic forest, which is located in South America and is one of the world’s largest tropical forests. The Atlantic Forest is considered one of the world’s most endangered tropical forests and naturally regulates the atmosphere, which helps to stabilize the environment. These tropical forests are considered to be the lungs of the Earth storing massive amounts of carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen in a never-ending cycle of life. The ultimate goal of this campaign is to join efforts to reforest all the degraded areas and protect the existing forest.

“At Antipodes, sustainability is about our impact on the environment as well as our contribution to solving its many challenges,” said Ed Meyers, USA Distributor of Antipodes. “We are proud to be part of a comprehensive collaboration to address such an important and meaningful environmental project.”

Antipodes has always been committed to the renewal of Earth’s natural resources. Their natural skincare line, which is produced in accordance with environmentally sustainable practices, is focused on limiting human exposure to chemicals as well as limiting the human effect on the environment. Antipodes certified organic skincare features pure avocado oil and New Zealand plant extracts. The ingredients in the Antipodes products are as near to their natural form as possible so they are not overly subjected to energy expending modifications or refinements.

NEW ZEALAND-BASED CERTIFIED ORGANIC SKINCARE BRAND “ANTIPODES”

New York, NY (September 8, 2008)—The US is the next destination for Antipodes, the New Zealand-based skincare collection internationally-recognized for its certified-organic standing. The company’s US website, www.antipodesusa.com, went live on Friday, August 22, 2008, making the range of natural face and body products more widely available to US consumers.

Antipodes offers an exclusive range of high-performance results-oriented face and body cleansers, lotions, creams and oils all based upon the star ingredient of certified organic Extra Virgin Avocado Oil. It is rich in anti-oxidants, chlorophyll, essential fatty acids and Vitamin E. There is an average of five organically-grown avocados in every bottle.

The formulations also include natural bio-active botanical extracts and essential oils indigenous to local New Zealand, such as rainforest-dwelling Kawakawa, skin firming and cell-regenerating Mamaku Black Fern, antiseptic Pohutukawa, and the ancient Maori healer, Manuka Honey, known for antifungal and antibacterial benefits. Antipodes is one of the only beauty brands to blend Vinzana Gold©, an anti-aging ingredient derived from New Zealand’s anti-oxidant-rich Sauvignon Blanc Grape Seeds, into its formulations.

The entire range is free of mineral oils, parabens, sodium lauryl sulfates, artificial colors, fragrances, aluminum, petrochemicals and MEA compounds, except for honey and beeswax, which are animal-derived ingredients. Committed to limiting the skin’s exposure to synthetic chemicals and limiting negative effects on the environment, Antipodes keeps all ingredients as close to their natural form as possible so they are not overly subjected to energy expanding modifications or refinements. Ingredients are harvested from organic cultivation and Antipodes is dedicated to full traceability of ingredients from farm or forest.

The Antipodes product line is “certified organic” by AgriQuality Ltd., the leading government funded provider of food safety and bio security services in the Southern Hemisphere. AgriQuality Ltd. upholds the strictest organic worldwide standards as set by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM).

Developed in 2005 by Elizabeth Barbalich, a mother of three with a background in science and naturopathy, her idea to imbue daily skincare rituals with a connection to nature has grown from her Wellington, New Zealand kitchen to include global distribution at prestigious beauty emporiums in Australia, France, Asia, the United Kingdom and now the United States.

“My goal is to educate women of all ages, in all countries, on the simple fact that serious, results-driven skincare can be achieved naturally and responsibly—without the use of harsh chemicals and processes that are both self and environmentally damaging,” says Elizabeth Barbalich. The collection is available in both retail and spa and salon professional markets. Living Healthy LLC in Boca Raton, FL has been signed to distribute Antipodes in the US.
